Pattern for a cozy crochet shawl for autumn and winter
(Advertisement- cooperation)
"Meridia" is a Tunisian crochet shawl for aran weight yarn. It is worked with a large hook size to get a light and cozy shawl that will keep you warm and comfortable on chilly days.
The shawl has an asymmetric triangle shape and is worked sideways from one corner to the opposite edge.
The yarn that I chose for my shawl design is Cosy Wool by Schachenmayr.
Cosy Wool is made with a net filled with loose fibers. It consists of 64% viscose, 25% acrylic and 11% wool. It is a very lightweight yarn with a meterage of 100 m / 50 g.
Cosy Wool is available in 11 beautiful colours.
The special texture of the yarn and the Tunisian crochet stitch pattern I used here go together so nicely and create even, perfect stitches.
Material:
You'll need Cosy Wool or comparable aran weight yarn in two colours:
- 3 balls (300 m) for the first colour (here Navajo)
- 2 balls (200 m) for the second colour (here Creme)
- a Tunisian crochet hook with cable size 9 mm or suitable to obtain the gauge
- one stitch marker (optional)
Measurements:
approx. 170 x 46 cm
Skill level:
Intermediate. Knowledge of Tunisian crochet techniques is required.
The pattern contains written instructions, a crochet chart, a chart for easy row-counting and photo tutorials (8 pages).
The pattern is available on Ravelry and Crazypatterns. Find the links below.
